About Gokiwi...

A startup company with the unique vision of normalising virtual credit cards on your phone to make UPI payments across the country.

My role

During my 3-month internship as a part of this talented team of 30-odd members, my role often switched from UX designer to graphic designer to design co-ordinator and back.

App / Static screens
Original

Four existing tiles in the "Get Help" section were a part of the product launch.

Modified

Addition of 2 more tiles along with a standalone whatsapp contact CTA for a different action to be taken.

FAQs 1.1.jpg
Original

"Kiwis Won"- rewards against transactions and "Kiwis Claimed" - crediting reward amount to the user's account.

Modified

Currently both these categories look the same. I felt that should change. Different designs, same alignment.

FAQs Table

Just wanted to do something other that a boring table to display fee structure.

Reward Tiles

3d tiles for all the special fetaures on display on the homepage!

Force Update

The main message is that an update is the better choice while concealing that it is the only choice.

SMS Permission

No SMS permmission means not way to login. Gotta make that clear and redirect them to the phone settings.

App / Prototype
Rewards Homepage

The "Rewards Homepage" required designs for 3 different pop-ups as well as their animation styles.

The 3 pop-ups can be differed into 2 categories. One informs users of the reasons for a negative experience so the pop-up designed is more precise and informative.

The other informs users the details of their rewards won or claimed. Due to this being a positive experience, the designs are more vibrant and exciting.

Pay a Contact

The "Pay a Contact" page required a better scrolling feature so that users have more vertical space while going through their contacts.

Website / Posters
Original

The older version consists of a registration card for users to enlist on our waitlist. Now that the app went live on Playstore and Appstore, the registration card needed to be replaced by CTAs to help users download the Kiwi App.

Other Responsibilities
Design Co-ordinator
I had the responsibility of co-ordinating design meetings with the UI Design Partners (LiquidInk) whenever the product managers had a requirement. This also included collaborating on works with LiquidInk.
Usability Studies
The process involved gathering 5-6 participants to test out the prototype of a new feature that hasn't been released yet. The first usability study involved choosing between two points of entry for the same flow on the app. Another, involved testing the functionality of a new screen that performs multiple actions.
User Interviews
I was responsible for calling users and getting feedback on the app, as well as answering any issues regarding Credit Card Isssuance for ETB customers. Although it was a deviation from my intended role of designer, the experience was still insightful.

Context

The "Manage Card" section of the app consists of critical features and failure to understand these features by users might lead to loss of customers.

Therefore, before launching these features, a usability study with 5 participants was called for to check if the flows had the desired clarity.

Do Not direct the Participants

Don't (Q2): How do you view your entire card details?

Do (Q2)You want to view your card number, CVV etc. What do you do?

The first question uses the terms used in the CTA and leads the user in a certain direction. The second question refers to an action a user wants to take and has more scope to observe a user's instincts.

Similarly...

1) You want to take some action regarding your CC. Where do you go?

3) You want more info about your Kiwi Card balance, etc. What do you do?

4) You want to pay your bill. How do you do it?

5) You want to get your statement. What do you do?

6) You want to block your card. What do you do?

7) You want to manage how you use your CC. What do you do?
