Project Basis
Every year, the RBI rolls out a new set of guidelines that banks across the country need to follow. For a nationwide bank, this can get pretty complicated. Any change has to make its way from the smallest branch all the way to the head office, with the head office eventually needing proof that every branch is compliant - or risk facing penalties from the RBI.
SOUNDS GOOD.
WHY DOES IT NEED FIXING?
Everything is done via Email. If somebody messes up, it becomes exponentially hard to trace the mistake and fix it. That’s where we came in - bringing every submission, approval, and rejection into one place, so there’s always a clear trail to follow and no more digging through endless email threads.
MAPPING THE PROCESS
After multiple interviews with bank managers and employees who work in compliance, we mapped out how a task is executed across multiple departments and heirarchies.
1 member task

2 member task

4 member task
And the work can branch out endlessly...
thousands can work on one task.
SOLUTION
The goal was pretty straightforward: make sure instructions from the main bank reach even the smallest branch across the country, and that proof of completion makes its way back to the head office.
At its core, it’s basically a glorified taskboard with a few extra conditions (mostly driven by client requirements, not exactly my favourite part of the design) built specifically for banks.
The challenge: making the product scalable while still keeping it restrictive where it needs to be.
WIREFRAMES AND EXPLORATIONS
I tried and tested multiple task management apps before settling on these layouts.

TASKBOARD
KEY SOLUTION
The right side holds everything you need to actually get the task done - the people involved, description, attachments, and all the other details that come with it.
A task can have as many subtasks as needed, and each subtask can branch out further.

The left side is where documents are submitted for approval or rejection by a superior officer. It also keeps a history of every submission and any changes made along the way.
It slao contains a chatbor that can give any kind of ckarifications regarding the task and also any suggestions.

Everytime a document is cubmitted, its running status and progress is visible in this space dedicated to form submission.

How is it different from a regular Task Manager?
VISIBILITY.
Only the people involved in a task will ever know of its existence. They can also access its subtasks, but not where it originates from.

SUPPORTING FEATURES.

DASHBOARD
A Kanban-style board brings together all the tasks assigned to the user. The best part? Tasks move through each status automatically, so there’s no need to manually update them.
HOMEPAGE
A space dedicated to organising priorities manually and via filters. Users can customise it however they like to make their daily work a little simpler.
